Megan Gailey grew up in Indianapolis, the perfect town to raise a delusional upper-middle class Midwestern socialite. After hosting Chi Omega’s sorority brunch auctions for four years at Purdue University, Megan graduated with a Sports Broadcasting degree and moved home to her parents’ gated community to care for her Alzheimer’s ridden, nudist grandmother. The monotonous exercising and grocery-shopping schedule led her to stand-up.

Megan’s honesty, self-loathing and unapologetic love of money, professional athletes, and elderly people made her an instant favorite in Indy and helped launch her in the Chicago comedy scene.

Gailey is a must-have at top Midwestern Clubs: Chicago’s Red Bar Comedy Club, the Southside’s Jokes N’ Notes, opening for John Roy at Bloomington’s Comedy Attic and Madison’s Comedy on State. Megan loves performing for fellow downtown yuppies at Comedians You Should Know and Second City, hip Northside crowds at Riot Comedy, and even for crowds that should inherently hate her but wind up loving her at Mikey O’s Watra.

A love of free trips and hatred of work recently delivered Megan to crowds in Ireland and the UK. A half Irish-Catholic, half Irish-Protestant performing in a Belfast comedy club is just the type of bravery and charm Gailey brings to her act she now hones on a nightly basis for lucky fans all over Chicago.

A founding member of Chicago’s stand-up and sketch group, Your Funniest Friends, and regular personality on the nationally adored (by comedy weirdo’s and social introverts) Red Bar Radio and Visitor’s Locker Room, Megan works and applies makeup at a fanatical pace. She continues to search for a rich husband, just in case.
